The majority of respondents agreed that hotels could do a
better job of publicizing their green initiatives. In fact, most revealed that
they rarely or never felt informed about whether hotels are truly eco-friendly.
We’d like to believe that hotels practice environmental sustainability for the
sake of our environment, but with more heads in beds, who could argue with this
survey?
There is a rare opportunity, of which most hotels aren’t
taking advantage, to use sustainability reporting metrics as green marketing.
In fact, Trip Advisor launched a rating service called Green Leaders in 2013 in
partnership with Energy Star, the US Green Building Council, and the United
Nations Environment Program, to recognize hotels based on environmental
practices. Air Cycle partner Renaissance Arlington Capital View, is a 2015
Green Leader, LEED certified hotel, and received the Virginia Green Travel Star
Award for Green Hotel of the Year.
With Air Cycle’s suite of simple sustainable solutions, it’s
easy to report your sustainability metrics by using the Bulb Eater 3 lamp
crushing system, EasyPak mail-in recycling program, Bulk Recycling Services, or
EnviroPure food waste disposal system.
Are you ready to form a universal waste recycling plan? Find your solution here.
Enrolling in an Air Cycle corporate recycling program not
only makes compliance with state and federal regulations simple, but also
includes tracking of your green progress, which can influence travelers to
choose your hotel when used in your green marketing initiative.
