LampRecycling.com 2009: A Year in Review
Wednesday, December 9, 2009
2009 has been a great year for LampRecycling.com. We launched a more streamlined version of the site, created a brand new e-newsletter, started a blog (what you are reading now!), and announced the much-anticipated Mini CFL and Mini Battery EasyPak containers, just to name a few accomplishments...As this year comes to an end we thought it would be fitting to run back through some of the LampRecycling.com highlights for 2009. Here are a few of the articles and videos that drew the most attention from our readers:

This popular piece deals with questions like "Is it more energy-efficient to leave fluorescent lights on if you are leaving a room for a short period of time?" and "How does turning lights on and off affect energy savings and the life of the bulb?"

Video: What Not To Do With Fluorescent Bulbs
This silly (and slightly disturbing) video was a huge hit on our site. We usually try to share material on our site that is helpful to our readers, and this video is a great example of a lamp disposal technique that we don't recommend!

Earth911 is a great resource for all things environmental, and we featured one of their articles on battery recycling in our May e-newsletter. This piece offers a look at types of batteries and discusses why they need to be recycled.
